Group E

Liverpool can secure first place with win over Spartak. Draw could be enough as well but only in case that Sevilla won’t succeed in Maribor. The only possibility for Liverpool not qualifying in next phase is if they lose against Spartak and Sevilla win in Maribor.

Liverpool vs Spartak Moscow; 20:45

Liverpool will miss third goalkeeper Bogdan, defenders Matip and Clyne and midfielder Lallana.

Spartak is coming in Liverpool without defender Tigiev and midfielders Kombarov, Timofeev and Ananidze.

Short preview: Liverpool is in tremendous form lately, scoring goals without any problem and I expect them in similar mood tonight against Russians. To win the group, they will need to win the match to be totally sure as Sevilla is only a point behind, but Spartak have chances as well. Klopp is rotating a lot lately, especially with offensive part of the team and it looks that it really works. Salah, Sturridge, Solanke, Firmino and Mane will probably compete for three spots up front and in case that result won’t go with the plan, they will have at least 2 jokers on the bench.

Maribor vs Sevilla; 20:45

Maribor will miss reserve goalkeeper Obradović, defenders Rajčevič, Šme, midfielders Mešanović and Inbrom.

Sevilla is coming to Maribor without defenders Pareja and Carriço and midfielders N’Zonzi and Montoya.

Short preview: Maribor was hoping to get more attractive group but still, they will fill the stadium and try to ruin plans for Sevilla tonight. Team isn’t as good as it was few years ago when they won a point against Chelsea, but I think that odds are simply too short to get some value. It can sound crazy, but if anywhere then I would look up to both teams to score market as some bookmakers are offering more than 2,30 for that to happen!

Group F

First place is taken by Citizens while Ukrainians need only one point to secure second place and qualify in knockout phase. Napoli will look for 3 points in Feyenoord and meanwhile hoping on a favour of Manchester City.

Shakhtar vs Manchester City; 20:45

Ukrainians will miss defenders Krivtsov and Srna and midfielder Malyshev.

City is coming to Ukraine without defenders Stones and Mendy, and midfielders David Silva and De Bruyne.

Short preview: Shakhtar will try to do everything to at least win the point but Guardiola said on press conference that he said in the dressing room after match against West Ham, that players not motivated to go in Ukraine should stay at home, because from the second they will leave Manchester, they will plan the match to get positive result. I am pretty sure that we’ll see Yaya, Danilo and Mangala in first lineup, while I wouldn’t be surprised to see hot prospect Phil Foden on the pitch neither. Odds are settled pretty fairly here, but there might be some value on draw as Shakhtar already caused several problems to Citizens in England. Bookies are offering interesting odds 2,11 on Shakhtar to score over 1,25 goals too. Besides SkyItalia is reporting that Pep Guardiola has sent Maurizio Sarri a text msg. promising that City will give it their all to beat Shakhtar tomorrow.

Feyenoord vs Napoli; 20:45

Feyenoord will miss defenders Haps, Van der Heijden and Botteghin and important midfielder – captain El Ahmadi.

Italians are coming without important forward Insigne, striker Milik and full back Ghoulam.

Short preview: Feyenoord have nothing to play for but still, it’s a Champions league match and they won’t give up easily. Napoli is hoping on help of Manchester City in Ukraine and will miss important forward Insigne this time. Still I think that we should see Napoli winning this one but odds are simply too short to take them.  Without Insigne, Mertens will be even more important in attack of Italians and I suggest to pick him as an anytime scorer today with odds around 1,85.

Group G

Turks surprised and won the group, while for second place Porto only needs to match the Leipzig result and they will secure second ticket for next phase.

Leipzig vs Besiktas; 20:45

Leipzig will miss defender Upamecano and midfielders Sabitzer and Forsberg.

Besiktas is coming to Germany without defenders Pepe and Hutchinson, midfielders Quaresma, Arslan, Tore and Gonul and forward Babel.

Short preview: As mentioned Besiktas have already secured the top spot while Leipzig will need win more points than Porto against Monaco. Home manager will miss three very important players of his first 11 and Turks have proved that they are very uncomfortable opponent. Anyway it’s true that Günes will probably make some rotations in the squad but that still means that we can expect players like Negredo, Lens, Talisca,.. We could see goals from both sides here – odds are raising and are currently close to 2,00! Interesting fact is that Besiktas asked Leipzig to close stadium for their fans, to avoid any problems. That means that there will be no away supporters which explains a little why odds are that short on home side.

Porto vs Monaco; 20:45

Porto will miss only midfielder Oliveira.

Monaco is coming in Portugal without defender Raggi, midfielders Lemar, Tielemans, Boschilla, Traore and forward Jovetić.

Short preview: Disastrous season in Champions league for AS Monaco, last seasons big surprise, but regarding the last transfer window it isn’t that crazily surprising.. Jardim will be forced to make some rotations as he has several players out injured. Porto needs more points than Leipzig to qualify for next phase and I think that motivational factor will be the key here. Monaco is still a team with lots of individual qualities, but they look pretty weak lately, so I see Porto as a winner of this match. Coach of Porto Sergio Conceiçāo knows Monaco very well as he was in charge of FC Nantes last season. Even though I think that Porto will finish on second place, I am not sure about them trashing Monaco, who will probably sit deep and try with counters. Result 2-1/1-0 looks pretty possible to me, so I see value on Monaco +1,75 with odds above 1,80.

Grup H

Tottenham and Real Madrid have already secured first and second spot in the group, so nothing can really change here, but there is still an active battle for third spot. Team (BVB or APOEL) wining more points will qualify for League Europe.

Tottenham vs APOEL; 20:45

Tottenham will miss injured defender Alderweireld, midfielders Wanyama and Lamera.

APOEL is coming without goalkeeper Waterman, defender Milanov and midfielder Efrem. Carlao and Ioannou are doubtful.

Short preview: Mauricio Pochettino will probably rest some players for league match as they already secured the top spot in the group. APOEL meanwhile will try to get a surprise here and qualify for League Europe. Even if some rotations are expected from home manager I think that difference in quality is still too big, moreover Tottenham is on pretty bad run recently and winning a Champions league match would be very welcome for their morale.

Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund; 20:45

Real Madrid will miss suspended defender Carvajal and injured winger Bale.

BVB is coming without defenders Toljan, Piszczek and Durm, midfielders Castro, Götze, Rode and Reus and forward Philipp.

Short preview: Zinedine Zidane will probably rest some of his players as they cannot go higher. Asensio has some troubles and I expect him to be rested while on the other hand BVB needs to have better result than APOEL in London to secure third spot and qualify for Europa League. .
